Stock Scanners vs Signal Services: Candidate or Instruction?
A candidate stream saves search work; a publisher instruction adds a different decision layer.
A row is not automatically a trade
A scanner identifies observations that match selected filters. Repeated rows on the same symbol may represent repeated conditions rather than independent decisions. Preserve the filter version and full stream before selecting interesting examples. The discarded candidates belong in an assessment of attention workload, even when they never become trades.
A publishing service can provide direction, entry conditions and later amendments. Check whether those elements are actually present. A subscriber who supplies missing rules is testing a combined workflow. The final result cannot be credited solely to the component that generated the original candidate or message.
Freeze selection and follow-up rules
Write down which candidates you inspect, the review hours and the criteria for rejection. Changing filters after seeing a profitable example makes the sample retrospective. During a documentary evaluation, identify the exact tools that expose the configuration and historical objects. During an actual trial, preserve original logs before sorting them into a shortlist.
Distinguish selection efficiency from strategy results. A smaller candidate set may reduce review time but miss opportunities; a larger set may increase distraction. Neither outcome establishes profit without an independently specified decision process. We have not purchased the feeds or timed the selected scanner workflows.
Compare operational ownership
A buyer should know who monitors an open instruction, who announces cancellation and whether repeat events supersede earlier ones. A scanner's latest row may simply describe a new observation. A publisher's latest message may be an amendment. Treating both as a fresh buy instruction can create a false history or unsafe account assumptions.
